Short CV of Jürg Enkerli

Jürg Enkerli is senior scientist in the group for Molecular Ecology at the Federal Research Station Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon in Zürich, Switzerland. He is responsible for research projects in molecular fungal ecology focusing on aspects like genetic diversity and functions of fungal groups in different agro-ecosystems and fungus-host interactions. His particular interests are related to the development and use of molecular tools to investigate basic questions in the biology and ecology of entomopathogenic fungi. He is specifically involved in investigations addressing the role and importance of these fungi as antagonists of insect pests and their application as biological control agent using augmentation as well as habitat management strategies.

He joined the IOBC Working group on “Insect Pathogens and Insect Parasitic Nematodes” in 2001 and since 2004 he serves as convenor of the sub-group “Soil Insect Pests”.
