Prof. Itamar Glazer is a research scientist in the Division of Nematology, the Plant Protection Institute of the Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), the Volcani Center, Rishon-LeZion, Israel.
He is a nematologist working since 1985 on Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs). His major research area concerns efficacy of EPNs against insect pests in agriculture as well as the environmental adaptation of EPNs. He had explored the molecular basis of stress tolerance, particularly to desiccation. In addition he conducted several surveys for EPNs in arid regions in Israel and characterized the recovered population for stress tolerance and infectivity.
In recent years Prof. Glazer is engaged in research on Entomopathogenic Fungi. More specifically, the host-parasite interaction with ticks.
