Short CV of Birger Koopmann

Birger Koopmann is senior scientist at the Department of Crop Sciences, Section of General Plant Pathology and Crop Protection, Göttingen, Germany (http://www.phytopathology.uni-goettingen.de/index.php?id=130&L=1 ). His key qualifications are plant pathology and molecular plant pathology. Since 1996 he is university lecturer at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen providing lectures on plant pathology, host-parasite interactions and molecular techniques in plant pathology. He was involved in the EU project “Integrated Strategies for the MAnagement of Stem Canker of Oilseed Rape in Europe” IMASCORE (http://www.versailles-grignon.inra.fr/bioger/equipes/leptosphaeria_maculans/imascore).

He joined IOBC/WPRS in 1997 (WG “Integrated Control in Oilseed Crops”, ICOC). In 2003 he became convener of the WG ICOC, which he jointly leads with Samantha Cook (Rothamsted Research, UK).
