Short CV of Gerben Messelink

Gerben Messelink is since 1999 working at Wageningen UR Greenhouse Horticulture (www.greenhousehorticulture.wur.nl) as an applied research entomologist. His key qualifications are IPM, biological control of pests and food web interactions. Most of his work is done in the greenhouse vegetables cucumber, tomato and sweet pepper. Recent projects are focusing on multiple pest control with generalist predators, induced plant responses & biological control and evaluation of new natural enemies for thrips, spider mites whiteflies and aphids.

He joined the IOBC/WPRS in 2002 as participant of the Working Group on Integrated Control in Protected Crops, Temperate Climate. In 2008 he was the local organizer of the meeting of this group in Sint-Michielsgestel in The Netherlands.
