Short CV of Luc Tirry

Born in 1961. He got his degree in Agronomy in 1984 and his PhD in Agricultural Sciences: Crop Protection in 1988, both at the Faculty of Agricultural and Applied Biological Sciences (now: Faculty of BioScience Engineering) at the Ghent University. At the moment, he is full professor at the Laboratory of Agrozoology, Department of Crop Protection, Faculty of BioScience Engineering, Ghent University (Gent, Belgium).
His teaching deals with identification biology of crop and forest pests and integrated pest management. His research focuses on integrated control of mites and insects in greenhouse and field vegetables and on mite and insect physiology related to acaricide and insecticide resistance.

Activity in IOBC/OILB: Responsable for the printing the IOBC/wprs bulletins since 1997. He has been / is member of the IOBC/OILB council (1997-2001) and executive committee (as vice-president) (2001- now). Members of his lab have been active in several working groups: Pesticides and beneficial organisms, Integrated control in protected crops, temperate and Mediterranean climate) and Field vegetables.
