Structure

The group comprises 60-70 participants from 16 countries.

Aim

The general objectives of the group are the communication of research findings and the promotion of methods for integrated stored product protection that help to reduce the use of residue building pesticides and to avoid risks to the user as well as to the environment.

   
Activities

The group meets every other year to discuss new findings regarding the following topics:

  • biology of stored product pests;
  • methods of pest prevention during storage, transportation and handling, e.g. food and feed production;
  • pheromones, traps and other methods to detect stored product pests;
  • cultivation, use and efficacy of biological antagonists in different storage environments;
  • physical, chemical and other techniques for stored product pest control.
